Hi Beauties,
I've not shopped for so long. To be exact, almost 3 whole weeks!!! No time to head down to town so I made it a point today to get some beauty items that were running low. I got SKII facial wash, dr secrets sunblock, a moisturizing milk and essence cosmetics.
I got this whitening moisturizing milk from Watsons and it cost around 26sgd. Not cheap but it smells and feels absolutely delicious- almost like a yummy watermelon smoothie. It has a fresh and soothing milk scent and it sinks into the skin and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth hours later. This milk moisturizer is for the body and I left it at my work desk because my work environment is heavily air conditioned and very drying. Smells like a heavenly and luxurious body lotion.
As for my essence products, I got a lipstick in dazzling beige and 2 eye shadows in 02 & 59. Then I got a free small essence pouch and a nail polish in 25 glisten up!
So happy to have done some retail therapy!

Hi Beauties,
I felt inspired this morning to create a bold makeup look. Smokey eyes and a bold deep lip color paired together was taboo for so long but I like how it looks together and I hope u do too.
Let's have a great weekend!

Hi Beauties,
I don't mean to scare you but I included a very recent photo of my very soon to be 2 year old toddler and myself ( with no makeup on ) - ah!
Omg. Don't puke yet! Hahaha
Well, I didn't want to give u guys the impression that I wear makeup 24-7 and I wanted to show you what I look like without war paint. I'm 28 but I've been told that I don't look 28 at all. What do you think?
Some days I feel like I look young while other days I feel I look older. There are things that I intentionally do to try to maintain my youth and I'm going to share that with you. When I don't stick to these youthful tips, I tend to look older and more tired looking.
1) dressing right
I try my best to update my wardrobe in a Healthy non damaging way to my wallet of course. I like to shop at h&m forever21 and far east. I like to dress my age so that means I try my best to avoid teeny bopper fashion trends cause I end up lookin like i'm trying way too hard. Basic well cut tops and bottoms are always a must have for me.
Also, age has blessed me with wisdom to dress my curvier shape. Dressing in fitted clothing makes me look younger while bigger baggy clothes makes me look fatter and older.
2) hair
You may not know this but hair style, quality and color can age or make you more youthful. Pay attention to your hair as much as u would to makeup and get a consultation with a stylist you trust. I've been visiting Charme at far east ( they really listen to what I want and their hair cuts are flattering)
3) skincare
This goes without saying. Skin pigmentation, wrinkles and uneven tone all contribute to looking older. I've been a sunblock queen since I was 16 and I am so grateful for that! A lot of my peers who haven't cared for their skin look a lot older than they are.
A good facial routine works wonders too.
4) living clean
I live a really boring clean lifestyle. My vices are coffee, chocolate and Facebook. Hahahaha. I don't drink, I don't club, I have never clubbed actually, I have never smoked, I don't like late nights ( rather I am way too tired!)..I try to eat healthy otherwise I take my spirulina, fish oil and iron tablets.
5) attitude of gratitude & love
Yes, I feel that I look so much better and younger ever since I had my baby. Before having a kid I was obsessed with my physical flaws but after seeing how miraculous my body was for 9 months, I started to love and embrace my imperfections. So this positive attitude towards myself is the best thing I ever did and it shows!
6) passion
Passionate people look young. That's what I've learnt throughout my life. Be it a passion for learning, teaching, reading, sport, whatever it is, get passionate. I'm passionate about my family, makeup and work! It keeps me going and takes my mind off useless and negative things.
So, I hope this entry doesn't bore u and I hope u don't think I look older than my age ( otherwise u shldnt read my tips - hahaha) but seriously, i really like a thicker brow to soften my face and make myself look younger. It's an easy step I take most days :-)hehe

Afternoon Beauties,
My hair is getting pretty long and unmanageable. So I went to my favourite hair stylist to get it cut and somehow I managed to convince myself that I should get soft Rebonding. If anything my hair would look straight, neat and definitely require less styling in the mornings.
So here it is, not crazy straight but definitely straighter.

Hi Beauties,
Would u like to see where I do my makeup most of the time?? I have this long working table that serves as a work space for both my hubby and I. He takes the side nearer to the window and I take the right side. This is where I do my makeup, surf the web and work. I have an inspirational corkboard where I keep a few notes and a small time table. I don't really enjoy clutter on my Inspiration board. If I put lots of quotes or things to remember it just gets lost so I've learnt to keep the important stuff only. I have my Mac book air on top of my Jeffery Campbell shoe box which looks good and comes in handy . The makeup I use daily is organized in JC boxes and this has been the best system for displaying my makeup to date. I see everything at one glance and it's all within reach. The mess is also contained in 1 JC box and another cloth organizer thing behind it.
The pretty accessories hanger is a gift from my mommy so it's always there for me to look at.
If u want me to show u guys my makeup collection just let me know. In the past I would hoard makeup but recently I've given lots away so that I only keep what I use or really like. So yea for reducing clutter in the house!

Hi Beauties,
How have you guys been? I miss u!! I
may not be able to see u're faces but I feel like you guys know me through my blog entries however skimpy or frivolous they may be :)
This past week I went to the Andy Warhol and Harry Potter exhibition at the arts and science museum. My boy hated it. My hubby loved it. I was not impressed by it. The Andy Warhol exhibition was a bit of a joke and the best part was seeing my favorite dermatologist on print. The Harry Potter exhibition scared the living daylights out of my little boy and it was a little boring to be frank. So, the best part about the trip was hanging with the fishes in a huge hallow water feature located just outside the museum.
That aside, I've been really disgusted at this particular lifestyle blogger going under the knife. I can appreciate and understand if you want to enhance ur natural look but when it's dawn you are trying to look like, it's just.... A smart and intelligent girl would work to enhancing her natural beauty not butchering her face to look like some celebrity blogger.
Beauty is so misunderstood. It's not about a high bridge, perfect cheekbones and a great pout. It's about loving your skin, a sexy smile , well groomed brows and light makeup. It's about maintence and Improvement. Not butchering and pretending. Agree?

Hi Beauties,
I've been reflecting about how trust should be earned, never given.
Maybe working has made me extremely wary but I strongly believe its better to be wary rather than fall prey to someone's sinister plan.
That's what I miss about being 10 -being naive and absolutely carefree. Not having to worry about who I should trust and who I shouldn't - Being an adult is such complicated work.
Hehe enough of my ramblings- enjoy your weekend ;-)
Trust Wisely, BlovetBeauty
Hi Beauties!
Happy Thursday:) I'm looking forward to an exciting weekend but I might have to work this Saturday. Anyhoo, I truly miss the smokey eye look but I prefer the Korean version. Liner is kept close around the lash line and the smokey effect is more conservative but precise still. I think g dragon and top rock their eyeliners extremely well and I don't know how they manage to pull it off so flawlessly!
Well, let's work towards a great weekend!

My Favourite MAC Lipsticks
Whether you’re getting geared up for a fun night on the town or you find that you want something sheer and lovely for a family get-together, you’ll find that it is time for you to check out MAC lipsticks. Personally, MAC lipsticks are very high on my list of favorites; they go on smoothly, they have some serious staying power, and if you are looking to make sure that you have a wide selection to choose from, MAC is the place to go. Check out some of my favorites, and see if they become yours too!
When I’m feeling extra feminine and flirty, I have to say that one of my go-to options is MAC’s Lickable. Lickable is a vivid cool pink, and if you want that extra pop of color for your appearance, this is a great once to choose for you. The pink is on the blue range, however, so you’ll find that it does very well with people who have cooler complexions. If your skin is middling warm, you’ll likely have no problem, but if you have a very warm complexion and you wear warm-colored clothing, you may want to skip it.
If you want something that is a little more demure, you’ll find that you should check out MAC’s Cestnut. Chestnut is a wonderful deep dark brown that has just a hint of warm red in it. This is not a chocolaty color, but it is a great one for people with warm skin tones or who just want a little bit of darkness on their lips. The satin finish prevents it from being too dull, and you’ll find that when you want a lipstick that you can take anywhere, this is the one for you. Personally, this is one that I keep in my purse just for the odd moment when I decide that I need a bit of color.
Sometimes you want demure, and sometimes you want out of this world. This is where MAC’s Heroine comes in! Heroine is a medium violet with a vibrancy that can’t be beat. If you want to make sure that you stand out, and if you want to make sure that your lips look utterly kissable, this is one for you. The purple is a bold choice, and it make take you some time before you are ready to wear it. However, when you do, you’ll wonder why you ever hesitated. It goes on smoothly, and you’ll discover that the vivid tones will do wonders for your skin.
When you are looking to make sure that you have a basic deep red in your makeup kit, you’ll find that you can’t go wrong with MAC. MAC carries several red shades, but two of my favorites are classic reds. Red and Russian Red are both excellent red lipsticks for nearly any complexion, and you’ll find that they are great for your collection. The Russian Red lipstick is slightly darker, and you will find that it can give you a smoky night time look, while the more basic Red is perfect for a more neutral, but still dramatic occasion.
If you have been hanging on to the same shades of lipstick for a while and rotating them in and out, take a moment to see what MAC has that you might have been missing.

Hi Beauties,
I'm on a constant hunt for activities and fun places to entertain my little one and botanical gardens was my choice this past Sunday.
Jacob ballas is a park for kids and it's nestled amongnst NUS law campus ( I would have chosen to study here but it wasn't as glamorous looking when located next to bizad during my time). Anyhow, I think I enjoyed Jacob Ballas even more than my 2 yr old! The park brought out the kid in me and allowed me to explore, climb and slide with my boy! Seriously, it has an amazing tree house with 2 awesome kids slide, a walk through mini waterfall, an Indiana jones type bridge ( kids version) and most importantly a water play area to let sweaty sticky kids cool off.
I had a great time and so did boy. Good for me cause the side effect was that he was all ready and happy for school today.

Hi Beauties,
Just a month or so ago, I dyed my hair a deep brownish red and as expected, the red is completely gone and has left an orange tint. That's why I love red but I didnt dye my hair a strong red shade because it is such a pain in the ass to maintain.
The ends of my hair are not as dry as I expected but there are tons of flyways. I should do some hair treatments but I hate to sit in a salon for hours - sitting still is so hard for me. Hehe.
I'm still using organic shampoos or my lush soaps to wash my hair and I usually followed with skinfood's moisture egg hair pack and that's about it. I notice that my hair looks ultra dry when I use my hot iron so I've cut down on that ( boo Hoo) and its improved the state of my hair a lot. When I do curl I will use my tresemme heat tamer spray.Well, I'm still using my grape seed oil from the body shop which helps condition the ends of my hair.
Planning for a hair cut soon. I need more layers in my hair. It's growing out long, straight and boring!

Hi Beauties,
Oh boy. What a hectic mid year it has been. I've been reading a few inspirational books to keep me focused on growing the family business. Although the road has been extremely challenging, I'm happy to have a direction and I'm committed to working towards it. It's been a long steep learning curve and while I foresee another one coming, I believe without some discomfort and hardwork, it's hard to expand in any direction.
Cheers to a relaxing weekend afteran intense work week.

Hi Beauties,
Its scary how time flies. It seemed like yesterday when I just got to know my hubby and we would hang out forever at the movies. It's been a good 6 yrs since we've been married and I seriously always forget all our special dates. My hubby always reminds me and this year he did it with a Kate spade bag. We are not brand conscious people but my darling loves to pamper me once in a while and the best part was the letter he wrote and attached to my bag. I'm never too old to get letters from my sweetheart...
Anyways, I'm really lucky to have a hubby who takes such good care of me. Men change so much throughout their lives. I knew him when we were poor teens and the one thing that has stayed the same through to our boring adult years is his generosity. Blessed :)
Looking forward to Friday!!
