This September, La Mer will be launching the fifth version of their highly coveted moisture cream - The Moisturizing Soft Cream and I was excited to be invited to an exclusive blogger’s workshop! All this while, I’ve always thought of La Mer as a skin care line more suited for matured skin. Having said that, I’ve always been aware of it’s legendary status amongst skincare fanatics but it was not till I got a chance to sample and understand the science behind the miracle cream that I was slowly but surely on my way to becoming a La Mer convert.
"Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics." Albert Einstein
Our skin is like a battery which needs to be recharged in order to renew itself. The science behind the cult status Crème de la Mer is based on renewal and energizing the skin for a youthful, supple and luminous appearance. The founder Dr Max Huber was an aerospace physicist who decided to formulate a cream to help heal his facial scars from a lab accident, as no cream he was using seemed to help. Marrying nutrient rich and highly regenerative sea kelp with the process of bio fermentation, he created the trademarked Miracle Broth™ - soul of the legendary Crème De la Mer.
From sustainable harvesting of nutrient rich, highly regenerative sea kelp, to the 3-4 month long fermentation process and the hand filling of each and every jar of crème, it’s with little wonder why this deeply nourishing and luxurious cream is in every way the ultimate facial cream indulgence.
So how is the new moisturizing soft cream different?
The soft moisturizing cream is set to be released this September 2012 and it contains trademarked ingredients such as the Miracle Broth™ and Lime Tea Extract™. To date, La Mer has 4 moisturizing creams and the main difference between each one is the texture. The fifth and latest The Moisturizing Soft Cream has a lighter texture which means that no warming prior to application is required unlike the denser textured Crème de La mer. Advanced Moisturizing Spheres gives it a rich yet softer airier texture. Clinical studies have shown that Moisturizing Spheres allow for deeper penetration to renew and moisturize skin. Lime Tea Extract is hand peeled and lends it’s anti oxidative properties to the cream.

The soft moisturizing cream is something I would use every day. It’s so light and airy and it feels like whipped cream. The scent is soothing and when I learn that it’s infused with the same potent Miracle Broth™ as Crème de la Mer, I feel like my skin is being fed with the miraculous benefits but with a lighter texture that I prefer. Working and juggling a small family means I only invest in the best for my skin. The original Crème de la Mer is a little too heavy for my liking while the Moisturizing Gel Cream isn’t a texture that I’m used to. My ultimate choice would be the moisturizing soft cream or the moisturizing Lotion as they work best with my combination skin type.
I definitely recommend attending their skincare workshop –>

LA MER’s BLOGGERS WORKSHOP
25 August 2012
Here’s some pictures I took at La Mer’s exclusive bloggers workshop. It was quite a treat to be sitting in a beautifully decorated office, sampling all of La Mer’s amazing skincare products.
Time to listen and feed the tum tum..
There are 35 products in all…
A typical sample display of the La Mer Creams…
Can you tell which cream is which?
From left: The Moisturizing Soft Cream,Crème de la Mer, The Moisturizing Gel Cream, The Moisturizing Lotion, The Oil Absorbing Lotion.
It’s actually the same potent ingredients in different textures. I love the concept of catering different textures and desired finishes with the 5 moisturizing creams. What a novel concept.
After the informative presentation, we washed our hands for an enzyme making session – it’s suppose to sit for a month and if it has no black stuff or mould than we can consume 3 tbsp every day for slimming and health…
Love that even the bottle is branded…
We layered the fruits ( apples, green apples, lime) with sugar bars and the finishing top layer had to be sugar!
Mine is almost 50% liquid now and I can’t wait to open it and smell it after a month. I’m expecting an apple cider vinegar type of smell!
Smitten by their office space, lovely chill area… I would not be able to work in such a gorgeous environment, I would day dream all day…
Joyce, Elva and Andrea… sweet new friends & awesome bloggers…
Group shot with our enzymes.. I just want to say a big thank you to La Mer and SkincareDB for inviting me to La Mer’s exclusive workshop and I really enjoyed learning about the science and story behind the brand.
Go try it out for yourself!
Love, BlovetBeauty
