The Moisturizing Soft Cream

This September, La Mer will be launching the fifth version of their highly coveted moisture cream - The Moisturizing Soft Cream and I was excited to be invited to an exclusive blogger’s workshop! All this while, I’ve always thought of La Mer as a skin care line more suited for matured skin.  Having said that, I’ve always been aware of it’s legendary status amongst skincare fanatics but it was not till I got a chance to sample and understand the science behind the miracle cream that I was slowly but surely on my way to becoming a La Mer convert.

"Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."   Albert Einstein

Our skin is like a battery which needs to be recharged in order to renew itself. The science behind the cult status Crème de la Mer is based on renewal and energizing the skin for a youthful, supple and luminous appearance. The founder Dr Max Huber was an aerospace physicist who decided to formulate a cream to help heal his facial scars from a lab accident, as no cream he was using seemed to help. Marrying nutrient rich and highly regenerative sea kelp with the process of bio fermentation, he created the trademarked Miracle Broth™  - soul of the legendary Crème De la Mer.

From sustainable harvesting of nutrient rich, highly regenerative sea kelp, to the 3-4 month long fermentation process and the hand filling of each and every jar of crème, it’s with little wonder why this deeply nourishing and luxurious cream is in every way the ultimate facial cream indulgence.

So how is the new moisturizing soft cream different?

IMG_0836

The soft moisturizing cream is set to be released this September 2012 and it contains trademarked ingredients such as the Miracle Broth™ and Lime Tea Extract™. To date, La Mer has 4 moisturizing creams and the main difference between each one is the texture. The fifth and latest The Moisturizing Soft Cream has a lighter texture which means that no warming prior to application is required unlike the denser textured Crème de La mer. Advanced Moisturizing Spheres gives it a rich yet softer airier texture. Clinical studies have shown that Moisturizing Spheres allow for deeper penetration to renew and moisturize skin. Lime Tea Extract is hand peeled and lends it’s anti oxidative properties to the cream.

The soft moisturizing cream is something I would use every day. It’s so light and airy and it feels like whipped cream. The scent is soothing and when I learn that it’s infused with the same potent Miracle Broth™ as Crème de la Mer, I feel like my skin is being fed with the miraculous benefits but with a lighter texture that I prefer. Working and juggling a small family means I only invest in the best for my skin. The original Crème de la Mer is a little too heavy for my liking while the Moisturizing Gel Cream isn’t a texture that I’m used to. My ultimate choice would be the moisturizing soft cream or the moisturizing Lotion as they work best with my combination skin type.

I definitely recommend attending their skincare workshop –>

LA MER’s BLOGGERS WORKSHOP

25 August 2012

IMG_0832

Here’s some pictures I took at La Mer’s exclusive bloggers workshop. It was quite a treat to be sitting in a beautifully decorated office, sampling all of La Mer’s amazing skincare products.

IMG_0830

Time to listen and feed the tum tum..

IMG_0854

There are 35 products in all…

A typical sample display of the La Mer Creams…

IMG_0856

Can you tell which cream is which?

From left: The Moisturizing Soft Cream,Crème de la Mer, The Moisturizing Gel Cream,  The Moisturizing Lotion, The Oil Absorbing Lotion.

It’s actually the same potent ingredients in different textures. I love the concept of catering different textures and desired finishes with the 5 moisturizing creams. What a novel concept.

After the informative presentation, we washed our hands for an enzyme making session – it’s suppose to sit for a month and if it has no black stuff or mould than we can consume 3 tbsp every day for slimming and health…

IMG_0874

Love that even the bottle is branded…

IMG_0879

We layered the fruits ( apples, green apples, lime) with sugar bars and the finishing top layer had to be sugar!

IMG_0880

Mine is almost 50% liquid now and I can’t wait to open it and smell it after a month. I’m expecting an apple cider vinegar type of smell!

IMG_0889

Smitten by their office space, lovely chill area… I would not be able to work in such a gorgeous environment, I would day dream all day…

Hi Beauties,

I use my iPhone for everything - especially snapping all the silly things I do - every time I open up my picture's app I find a condensed story of my life. I currently have over 3000 pictures ( looks away in shame) so I consider myself to be quite the hoarder.

It's definitely time to delete off some old pictures while sharing some pictures of my week...

Here I am using Sephora's natural eye palette
Loving my fruit & spinach smoothies
- fav blend: strawberries, watermelon, spinach and lime-
My supposedly rebonded hair. It goes from big to flat in a second.
Sister in law bought chocolates from US, yum!
Rimmel having a bundle sale. All this for only 10 sgd in watsons!
Is Rimmel leaving Singapore?

Hi Beauties,

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve consumed all 28 sachets of help: clear skin (which is suitable for acne prone skin) supplement sachets and I can give my impression on this natural supplement that is produced by UK company Works with Water Nutraceuticals (www.workswithwater.com). Though I’ve not heard of it in Singapore, it is sold in many high street stores in the UK and Sasa stores in Hong Kong.

 help: clear skin

IMG_3552IMG_3549

help: clear skin natural supplements are packed with praventin – derived from milk protein and scientifically supported to achieve a clearer complexion – the other natural ingredients include aloe vera to help heal, smooth and nourish the skin, and oligofructose, a soluble fibre to aid digestion and help eliminate toxins

o Praventin is a natural ingredient derived from milk, rich in Lactoferrin, which has been proven to reduce acne by boosting the body’s natural defences. It limits the growth of acne bacteria, reduces the appearance of blemishes and speeds up the skin’s innate healing process, leaving your complexion looking clearer and more radiant

o Just add a sachet of help: clear skin to a glass of water once a day to help see your skin improve. Quite literally you drink your way to a blemish free complexion!

IMG_3556

The good:

1) I noticed a drastic improvement in the lightening of pimple marks. After my last sachet, I noticed that pimple marks took much longer to heal and were much darker

2) It causes some purging of clogged pores. I appreciate the purging effect to facilitate the natural unclogging of pores

3) I felt that my skin was more plump looking

4) All I did was to mix a sachet with water and drink. It tasted sweet and was very easy for me to drink.

The bad:

1) As I mentioned previously, this product caused some purging and because I normally do not get pimples, I was not too excited about handling huge pimples that erupted from a few prominent clogged pores.

2) I find that my skin looks much better on this supplement than without. So the bad would have to be that if you live in a place where you can’t buy it in stores, than you can only get it on www.workswithwater.com (worldwide shipping available – free for orders over £45)

Additional information on help: clear skin

  • 100% natural ingredients
  • Take 1 sachet a day
  • Mix into your hot or cold drink
  • Or add to yoghurt, breakfast cereal or soup
  • Taste free
  • One box is a week’s supply

    Hello Beauties,

Happy to let u guys know that I just attended an exclusive La Mer workshop that was a first for me and I got a chance to interact with beauty bloggers- Yippie!

The best part was enjoying the beautiful office surroundings, slathering on La Mer soft cream and having good company like Andrea from the thebokeeffect.com & Joyce from the atelierbeauty.com

Got a skin product review coming up ladies & gents ( if any) :-)

    Hi Beauties,

Yup I did it again. I shopped my sorrows away and this time I got Sephora's pro lesson palette in natural Eyes. I love love love the colors. You guys must be sick of my eternal love of nudes and browns but they really are the most flattering shades for Asian eyes. The shades in this sephora palette are pigmented, smooth and long lasting. I'll do an in depth review after using it for a month or so:)

Also, I'm nuts about Laline. Its a new bath and body shop that has opened up in Bugis junction and the shop interior is beautiful and so are the products. I got a body mist in Cocktail tropical and they are having a buy 2 get one free promotion right now. The scents are so yummy and lite. I love it!

I feel better talking about my tiny haul already :) thanks for dropping by my blog and I hope u have a great day!

    Hi Beauties,

Have u seen the latest pSY video with his horse riding dance routine and all? I thought it was quirky, fun and fresh. Not seen this much hype over an MTV
in recent years, so hats off for being different, unique and strangely appealing . Hahaha. Even hyuna looked super cute in the gangnam style MTV!

Anyways sorry for not updating in the recent week. I've been on a juice craze. My energy levels have been low and I've not been feeling optimistic. Somehow I was attracted to watching raw gurus ( life regenerator and Kristina) because I was magnetized by their enthusiasm and energy. So, I haven't been slacking around but I've been supermarketing for fresh fruits and vegetables and trying to get my small family into increasing their green intake at the same time. I'm not able to go 100% raw but I feel motivated to simply increase my fruits & vegs when I see the kind how a clean nutrious diet can make a person glow from within and their eyes seem to have a sparkle.
People who eat high amounts of raw fruit and veg have really beautiful skin as well, enough for me to stay motivated to down my green smoothies!

Cheers to a healthy energetic life people!

    Hi Babes,

I've been pissed off! I guess a combination of sleep deprivation and nasty people make me wana scream.

But I refuse to stay in this state because it will give me frown lines and an upset tummy. I noticed my outward expression when I'm angry is black eyeliner. Subconsciously I reached over for my dolly wink liquid liner and drew a thicker line along with heavier brows. Maybe it's a defensive mechanism that says " stay away" but I tried to pretty up my picture for u guys :-) hehe

I'm such a camera whore but inside I'm really ready to knock some teeth out :)

    Hi Beauties,

Those of you who have read my blog and have followed my little boy journey would be happy to know that he's turned 2 today!!

That's really crazy because the last I checked he was still my baby. The terrible 2's have emerged and he's lost the baby weight but his smile and his gentleness is still here. I am grateful for his laughs, his smile, his temper and his love.

Letting him grow up, letting him take a few bumps along the way and setting him free from mommy's wings hasn't always been the easiest but it's for the best!

Dang I love my boy more than ever and even though he throws terrible tantrums and drives me stark raving mad many a times, I only feel a warmth in my heart when I look at him.

    Happy birthday sweetie pie.

    Hi Beauties,

I love to look through old pictures and see pictures of my fatter younger naive self. Not. My mother in law passed me these pictures that have been stuck in my hubby's old wardrobe for donkey yrs and its startling to see how my face and body have changed since teen-hood.

I was only 14 or 15 in that picture below. I was swimming, wake boarding, volleyball-ing and I had been doing ballet for 8 yrs ( with a distinction in every exam ) hahaha. Seriously, I was so burnt and plumpish looking and i attributed my tan self to outdoor activities and rounder self to baby fats! Hahaha

It was not till I hit 16-17 that I started to take serious notice of my skin, freckles and pigmentation marks ( aka vain) so I remembered being a fanatic about skincare and sunblock from 16 onwards. Also, my skin really broke out at 17. My then boyfriend now hubby, bought me my first skincare series ( biotherm 3 step for combination oily skin and Roc's pimple cream) and that stopped my outbreaks till I hit 22 :(

So for all you young girls out there, my advice would be - sunscreen and skincare for better skin always :-

    - cant believe guys actually liked me back then!!! ><

    Hi Beauties,

I've been going through a black fashion craze again. Maybe it's reflecting my inner mood. But I love these 2 black tops I just got from this wholesale shop near my work area. They don't have a lot of clothes for selection so they gun more for quality and cut over quantity. Something I appreciate dearly.
My recent love of coppery orange eye shades paired with light brown pencil eyeliner has been a staple look as well. Orange & brown are the best complements for fair yellow skin tones like mine ;)

    Hi Beauties,

Guess u all know I am Nutso for Essence Cosmetics. It's cheap, high quality and the packaging is pretty cute. I've tried their Nail polishes, lipsticks, lip glosses and blushers( love it!!), eyeliners and concealors ( not bad). So I seem to have tried everything but their eyeshadows. Recently, I've not had the time to go down to sephora so I thought i'd try out essence eyeshadows. One was a coppery shade and the other a shimmery off white color. I did an eye look with just these 2 shades- application was smooth and blending easy.

Have u tried Essence eye shadow yet?
